From My Perspective - - -
As events unfold rapidly, it is astounding the way attempts are made to deflect responsibility and culpability for that which is transpiring. The most powerful imply that the less powerful failed to know or pass along vital information in a timely manner. The less powerful, desiring status and salary more than representing integrity and forthrightness, allow for the ongoing misrepresentations regarding how we have arrived where we are in terms of ISIS and other terror groups. It seems as though those who have been entrusted to be vigilant have neglected that duty and responsibility. The claim that “we did not know” has become very stale and plastic. It is the duty of those who swore to uphold the Constitution and to protect this nation to do what they vowed to do. Should we be surprised by the direction taken by elected officials in government? For too long, they have been more involved in pursuing their own personal agendas and interests than they have for the people who elected them. If we had been paying attention, we would have known and seen to it that the abuses of power or irresponsibility were being addressed.
In a Blog titled, Liberalism and Evil by David Solway had a sub-title: “The left liberals…and their utter intellectual bankruptcy mounting to self loathing excesses of and with evil.” Solway expanded his views: “The root problem with the liberal mentality is that it has no viable theory of evil and little conception of its tangible presence in human affairs. However we may wish to define it—as a privation of being, the effect of an original sin, the condition of the natural world, a predilection for violence and domination inscribed in the gene plasm—evil is a reality, and it is in the world as it is in us.” Solway is clear in terms of where he believes the liberal mentality has erred. He describes it: “The conviction that we all share a mutual hankering for concord is the liberal version of the Rapture. In contending against a real enemy who has blood, infiltration and conquest in mind, liberals are at a loss. Let us sit down together, let us talk without preconditions to those who are dedicated to our complete destruction, let us assure them of our good will and our sympathetic understanding of their resentment and distress, let us offer them no end of incentives. Surely we will arrive at an accommodation, and disquietude will be banished to the history books—the very same history books, obviously unread, in which such outreach to thugs, rogues and moral degenerates has led inevitably to disaster….The antidote to liberalism is not…authoritative control, but political humility, the recognition that the world is insolubly complex, that topdown intervention in the social, political and economic life of the nation is often counter-productive, and one must not attribute to one’s fellow man, and especially to one’s enemies, an a priori commitment to communal benefit or reasonable accommodation…The liberal mind seems incapable of learning from past mistakes or failed initiatives…”
We need to direct people to begin to pay attention to The Lord. With wickedness prevailing in this day, we need to make clear the words of Psalm 7:9-11 (NKJV), “Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart. God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.” We should be making known the truth of Psalm 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” We need to remember and remind others of the words in Proverbs 14:32-34, “The wicked is banished in his wickedness, but the righteous has a refuge in his death…Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” A summary in Hebrews 2:1-3 (ESV) needs to be heeded and shared: “We must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” The answer is simply that those who are not paying attention to God and His Word are those who will suffer His consequences and condemnation? How shall you escape if you ignore His truth? Consider these things with me!
