Moxie and Pithiness

From My Perspective - - -

How can one chart a course through troubled waters and difficult times? It is always good to find someone who is gifted and skilled and can make suggestions for life that contain some humor and that are simply stated. These statements are called “Pithy Comments”. Pithy means: “precisely meaningful; forceful; brief.” An added bonus is if one can demonstrate “Moxie” while making the “Pithy Comment”! Moxie means: The ability to face life with spirit and courage; aggressive energy; initiative; skill; know-how.”

The following are Pithy and Poignant Comments by Tweety
Anger is a condition where the tongue works faster than the mind…
You can’t change the past but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future…
God always gives His best to those who leave the choice with Him…
A Hug is a great gift – one size fits all. It can be given for any occasion and it’s easy to exchange…
If anyone speaks badly of you, live so that none will believe it…
Do what you can, for who you can with what you have and where you are…

And then – Tweety’s Prayer - - -
Dear Lord, so far today I am doing alright.
I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or self-indulgent.
I have not whined, complained, cursed, or eaten any chocolate.
I have charged nothing on my Credit Card.
But I will be getting out of bed in a minute, and I think I will really need your help then. Amen.

The initial premise of this blog is: “charting a course through troubled waters and difficult times.”
What are a few of the Basic Biblical Guidelines for life?
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
Psalm 37:4-7 (Selected: NKJV)
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass…Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him…”
Ephesians 4:31-32 (NKJV)
“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.”
John 13:34-35 (NKJV)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
How Is One To Love Another? What Is Biblical Love?
I Corinthians 13:4-8, 13 (NKJV)
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever…There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love…”

Valentine’s Day is observed in two days. Expressions of Love will be exchanged and gifts given. Let us give expression of thanks for God’s Love for us, and reciprocate by sharing expressions of our Love for God! We do well to remember – Romans 5:8, “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Consider these things with me!
